Been hearing a lot of good stuff about this game and was thinking about grabbing it when the price dropped a little for 360. Found out today that it's not just missing cars that are in the XBONE version but also won't be getting any DLC. Dumbest move they could've made honestly.

Yep. goading people into getting the next gen does sucketh quite verily. But going forward, previous gen support is going to make less and less financial sense as time goes on. We should expect to see this sooner or later, and more often than not as games begin taking advantage of the extra hardware goodies available to the X1/PS4.

Yup I got it for 360 and it's not worth it. all the stuff that make it great on the XBONE is not in the XB360 version.

The 360 version has cars the XB1 version doesn't, annoyingly.

I was not aware of that. You just saved me $50. That or you just cost me $400 on a new Xbox One.

Really? I thought 360 was missing stuff like the Rally Fighter...

Thus is why I'm buying an XBONE.

True but this is something that's supposed to happen over time. The new X1 has only just come out while the 360 has been out for what, almost a decade now? There's a much larger userbase on the old console at the moment. Releasing exclusive games for the next gen consoles is what will bring people over, not withholding content on a multiplatform game. That just annoys people to the point of not spending money on future products.

I'm talking about cars that have already been in the series. For example, the 360 version has the 575 Maranello, Lotus Esprit, and Lotus Carlton while the XB1 version does not have these. The 360 version also had the E28 M5 exclusively until the Mobil 1 car pack came out for the XB1.

They don't care about the larger user base, nor do they care about doing a transition that is friendly to their users. They have them by the balls and they know it, so they will squeeze until they get the result they want. They just spent a half-billion creating and marketing this new console, and now they are only interested in getting every X360 user on to the X1 as soon as possible, consequences be damned.

It would be nice if people responded by not giving them their money when they use these tactics, but they are guaranteed to do the opposite. The Xbox/PS ecosystems are as much a walled garden as iOS is, and people within these ecosystems can easily be poked and proded into upgrading. What's more is that these tactics are employed market wide, so it's not like you can just buy some other console to avoid them.

In fairness the X1 didn't really "just come out," it's been out for (just under) a year now. The fact that it feels like it just came out is simply further evidence that we're getting old ;)

Honestly though, I'm just glad (and a bit surprised) they haven't stopped making new games for the 360 entirely. I'm pretty sure they weren't still offering new big name titles for the original XBox/PS2 when the 360/PS3 were a year in.

The Xbone/PS4 have already been out for almost a year. In the Xbox to 360 transition I don't think anybody bothered to publish games for the original once the 360 released. Granted the "backward compatibility" helped ease that transition, but that was limited at best.

It frankly amazes me that they are bothering to release games on both platforms. The architecture is so different that they can't just directly port between the two, and therefore have to damn near develop two games to release on both platforms.

There's about 6.5 million XBONEs out there right now. There's about 87 million Xbox 360's out there.

Turn 10 and Microsoft have decided to market the DLC exclusively to the smaller market in the hopes of more console sales, at the risk of alienating everyone who got it for 360.

Because of this I'm not planning on buying Forizon 2 or Forza 5 at all.
